About Us

The Department of Psychology is a four-year undergraduate program carried out within the Faculty of Culture and Social Sciences at the Turkish-German University, developed in academic partnership with Heidelberg University, with 30% of the language of instruction being German. The department aims to train psychologists who integrate the theoretical foundations of psychological science with scientific research and application skills, can think critically and analytically, adhere to ethical principles, and possess a developed sense of social responsibility.

The program provides its students with a strong academic background to evaluate human behavior and mental processes from biological, cognitive, developmental, social, and cultural dimensions in line with scientific methods. Thanks to courses focused on research methods, psychological assessment, data analysis, and application areas, students develop skills in designing scientific research, collecting and analyzing data, and interpreting their findings in accordance with ethical principles.

Drawing strength from the bicultural academic structure and international education approach of the Turkish-German University, the department offers education at international standards in line with its curriculum, harmonized with Heidelberg University. The program aims to equip its students with the knowledge, skills, and foreign language competence to work in international academic and professional environments. In this context, it is aimed for students to master German and English psychology terminology, follow international scientific developments, and attain competencies to work effectively in multicultural settings.

Students' academic and professional development on a global scale is supported through international academic collaborations, student and faculty exchange programs, and research projects. With its research-oriented educational approach and a structure that considers professional qualification requirements for working as a psychologist in Germany, the program aims for students to acquire knowledge, skills, and competencies to compete at national and international levels.
